Proof #17: Think About Leprechauns
January 4, 2008
This is an interesting attempt to parallel God and Leprechauns. Brain has already tried to do this with Santa Claus in an earlier proof. Everything from the first half of this proof has been addressed here.
The second half of the proof asks us to devise a repeatable, scientific experiment to prove that God exists. The problem with this is that God is not a part of this universe, He exists outside of it by definition. Therefore, it is impossible to devise a repeatable, scientific experiment to detect Him. Science can only teach us about observable, material phenomena.

Here’s a quote from Brain’s site on this proof:
Here we have an object named God that proves its existence by completely hiding its existence. Of course, in the real world, any object that provides no evidence for its existence is classified as imaginary. Even more interesting, this object called God, which is supposedly hiding its existence completely, is in the meantime supposedly writing books, answering prayers and incarnating itself. How can that be? This obvious contradiction shows how imaginary God is.
–Sound familiar? He’s describing exactly what you’re rationalizing here in this so called “refutation.”
The problem with this is that God is not a part of this universe, He exists outside of it by definition
–This hypotheses is extremely absurd. The problem with this that the universe is infinite space. So God exists infinitely outside of the infinite space known as the universe? If God exists outside of all of his creations like the universe and heaven and whatever else he may have created that we can’t see or don’t know about, then where DOES he exist in? Does he exist in alternate dimensions? What are you talking about by “existing outside of it by definition?” By WHAT definition? How is he answering prayers, talking to people, and doing whatever else he does on earth if he doesn’t even exist within the Universe, let alone the Earth? This is utter nonsense! What dark recesses of your butt do you pull these wild rationalizations from? (no offense, lol.)
Science can only teach us about observable, material phenomena.
–In other words, Science teaches us reality. Faith doesn’t.
“Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence.” -Richard Dawkins

Anti-Devil Says:
“Faith is good,it give the hopeless hope, and the hopeful more hope”-Anti Devil
–So basically, faith is a reason to remain in a delusional bubble. And all religions have faith in their Gods. Does that make all the different Gods real? Nope, and I’m sure you agree with that.

–I know full well what faith means. My point about faith is that in a debate against the existence of a God, faith does nothing to help prove his existence. Therefore, it is futile to even bring up.
